What we build
A pergola is the anchor of a truly usable Florida backyard: the piece that turns hot pavers into a shaded lounge, and a bare pool deck into a resort-style retreat. Hansen Crafted Outdoors designs and builds custom pergolas, cabanas, and integrated shade structures for homeowners across Tampa Bay, Sarasota, and Bradenton.
Every pergola we build is designed around how you plan to use the space: dining, lounging, cooking, entertaining, or all of the above. We handle everything in-house (concept, engineering, permitting, and installation) so the finished structure looks and functions exactly as intended.
Who a pergola is for
Pergolas make sense for Florida homeowners who want to actually enjoy their backyard in July as much as in January. If your pool deck bakes in the afternoon, your patio has no defined outdoor "room," or you want a proper spot for an outdoor kitchen or dining table, a custom pergola is usually the fastest way to unlock that space.
Designed for Florida sun, storms, and salt air
Not every pergola is built for Florida. We specify aluminum, steel, and premium wood systems engineered for local wind loads, humidity, UV, and coastal salt exposure. Louvered aluminum roofs are especially popular because they let you dial in shade, sunlight, or full protection during a passing storm.
Because we're a design-build company, structural engineering, permitting, and installation are all handled under one roof, so nothing gets lost in translation between the "design" and the "build."
How pergolas pair with the rest of your outdoor space
A pergola rarely stands alone. Most of our clients build one as the anchor of a larger project, paired with an outdoor kitchen, screening, patio upgrades, or a full backyard transformation. Because HCO handles the whole outdoor space, everything stays visually and structurally cohesive.
Where we build pergolas
We install pergolas across Saint Petersburg, Tampa, Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton, Sarasota, and surrounding Tampa Bay and Gulf Coast communities in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Sarasota counties.
